“NATO values cooperation with Armenia”

The NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina Piriz who is in Armenia on a regional visit, said that the North Atlantic Alliance values cooperation with Armenia and stressed the importance of continuing the political dialogue.

Piriz said about it at the meeting with Armenia’s President Armen Sarkissian.

Armen Sarkissian attached importance to Armenia’s normal cooperation and partnership relations with NATO. He noted that Armenia continues having an important contribution to the collective international efforts of establishing peace and stability.

Sarkissian and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative referred to the situation, developments and challenges created in Armenia and the region after the war.

The president once again stressed that the active involvement of NATO member – Turkey – in the 44-day war is an incomprehensible and serious issue which he raised during the visit to NATO headquarters in October 2020.
