Armenia to stay in NATO mission in Afghanistan

Today Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to the joint efforts in establishment of security in Afghanistan.

The Minister made this statement in Brussels at NATO HQ, at the meeting of foreign ministers of the member states of Resolute Support Mission.

Edward Nalbandian branded as concerning the information about Taliban activity and presence of Daesh/ISIS and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan.

“This reminds us that when security issues don’t receive proper attention in one place on the map, they turn into a threat for us all. Terrorists must not be able to find fertile land,” Armenian FM stated.

He reminded that Armenia committed to contribute to the joint efforts in establishment of peace and security.

“That commitment is proved by our present and past participation in international missions in Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon and Mali,” Edward Nalbandian remarked.
